Foundations of supply chain Planning & Forecasting
The day starts with an exploration of the macroeconomic factors that affect demand – supply planning, and the impact of geography, technology, and processes. The session will explore the Four Pillars of Demand Planning – Forecasting Methods, Forecasting Performance, Forecast Management, and digital Technology, big data and close with Predictive Variability. The session leads you to evaluate if your supply chains are digital and analytics ready. It answers the root question “What’s the right forecast method for your product”
Demand Supply Synchronization
The session will draw on a decade long journey of an Indian MNC through DDMRP and Theory of Constraints. It focuses on reading the consumer demand signals on a continuous basis and using them to plan all the supply actions, viz. sourcing, manufacturing and distribution in a dynamic manner. The session will explore how DDMRP and Theory of Constraints can help firms become agile and responsive in their supply chains. The session explores how supply chain leaders can move away from day to day firefighting, and embrace planning.
The need for connected Planning and Managing it through IBP Process –
This session will draw on a five year transformation of an MNC firm from S&OP to IBP, outline the key ingredients to a successful IBP roll out and the governance structures that will ensure one company, one plan agenda. It will guide you to interpret outputs from Product, Demand, and Supply Management reviews, and evaluate their impact on business. We will close with an examination of integrated reconciliation, including financial and management, how to take outputs from these reviews to build an integrated plan.
In this wrap up session, we will gather all the inputs throughout the day and create an action plan for the firm. In a free flowing question and answer session, the participants and faculty will exchange ideas on shaping the demand and supply planning functions.
Dr. Rakesh Paras Singh is the Chairman and Dean of ISCM Demand Planning Academy, Mumbai. He is a global thought leader, author, researcher and consultant in the domain of forecasting and demand planning. He is a Ph.D. in Demand Planning. He has done training and consulting assignment with various corporates like Larsen and Toubro, Syngenta, Unilever, P & G, Damco, Agility, Cipla, Nivea, Godrej, Fiat, Pfizer, Mahindra Vehicle, and many others in the area of Demand Planning and Supply Chain. He has built a 27+ years successful career as an executive level functional leader, working majorly in Asia Pacific (APAC), Middle East, and Africa (MEA) market for global organizations like P&G, Coca-Cola, Baxter, and Mondelez covering domain of Strategic Sourcing / Procurement, and Customer Service.
